What is the Platinum Plus Screen?
Better2Know’s most comprehensive screen, the Platinum Plus, tests for eleven important STIs. This screen is ideal for providing the best possible picture of your overall sexual health. All the STIs this screen tests for can be harmful and lead to health complications if left untreated.
Our Platinum Plus Screen provides results within just three working days from receipt of your sample at our certified testing laboratory. With this screen, testing for HIV also includes the p24 antigen. This makes it 99.8% accurate at 28 days after any potential exposure.
For Herpes testing, this screen uses both blood and urine samples. This means that we can identify the infection in cases where patients have symptoms (symptomatic) or where no symptoms are showing (asymptomatic).

Which samples are needed?
The procedure for sample collection is quick, efficient and pain-free. Our Platinum Plus Screen requires samples of blood and urine only. No uncomfortable swabs will need to be taken. Our trained clinicians will collect these samples at your private appointment.
Following this, your samples will be sent securely to our testing laboratory for fast and accurate analysis.
How do I get my results?
Your results will be available no longer than three working days after your sample arrives at our laboratory. One of Better2Know’s Sexual Health Advisors will contact you once they are all ready. You can also find your results in your secure Patient Area on our website, to view whenever you choose.
What if I test positive?
If any of your tests are reactive, Better2Know can arrange a private consultation with a doctor. During your consultation, your doctor will discuss your diagnosis with you and help to relieve any concerns you have. Depending on the infection(s) you test positive for, your doctor will provide a prescription for appropriate medication.
In the case of a reactive test result for HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C, a confirmatory test will be provided at no additional cost. We will help you with the next stages of treatment. This may include referral to a specialist who will provide you with ongoing support and access to medication as required.
You can also take your results to your own GP if you prefer.
