What is the Wellbeing Screen?
Better2Know’s Wellbeing Screen combines testing for three STIs. This screen is ideal if you are worried about these specific infections: HIV, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea. For the results to be accurate, a minimum of 28 days incubation must have passed. This is the length of time between the incident you are concerned about and your tests.

Which STIs are tested for?
Our Wellbeing Screen tests for:
- HIV I/II and the p24 antigen
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhoea
Which samples are needed?
Our Wellbeing Screen requires blood and urine samples to be collected at your appointment. Our CPA accredited laboratory will test your blood sample for both types of HIV, in addition to the p24 antigen. Meanwhile, your urine sample will be analysed for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea. No swabs need to be taken for this screen.
How do I get my results?
You will receive your results one to two working days after your samples arrive at our testing laboratory. As your results are processed, we will update your secure Patient Area online which you can access at any time. When all your results are ready, a member of our Patient Services team will contact you through your chosen method.
What if I test positive?
Do not worry; Better2Know will help you. For Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea, we can arrange a private consultation and a prescription to cure the infection.
If your HIV test is reactive, we will help you with the next stages of your treatment. This may involve referral to a specialist, who will provide you with ongoing support and access to medication as required.
Alternatively, you can take your results to your own GP or local sexual health centre.
