Which STIs does the FAST Four Screen test for?
The Better2Know FAST Four Screen will detect four harmful infections, including:
- HIV
- Syphilis
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhoea
Is the FAST Four Screen accurate?
All samples are analysed by Better2Know’s certified laboratory. Our tests and screens are CE marked, ensuring the most accurate and efficient results.
How does this STI screen work?
Once you have ordered your FAST Four Screen, we will post it to the address you have provided. Our home test packaging is plain to ensure complete patient discretion. Your sample collection kit will contain a pathology form, a prepaid return envelope, a urine collection tube, three finger prick lancets, a small gold topped tube and wipes. We will also send you instructions on how to collect your samples. It is important for you to read and follow the provided guidance carefully.
When will my test arrive?
Home test kits which are ordered before 4pm, Monday to Friday, will be posted on the same day. Depending on where you reside in Ireland, your testing kit should arrive within three working days.
How long before I get my results?
The results of your FAST Four Screen will be available as early as one working day following the receipt of your samples at Better2Know’s accredited laboratory. Our expert Patient Services team will contact you once all your results are ready to report. Alternatively, you can keep track of your results online through the secure patient login area of the Better2Know website.
What happens if my STI test is positive?
Our trained sexual health advisors are on hand to provide assistance and support throughout your patient journey. Better2Know has a network of skilled doctors in Ireland. If your results are reactive, your advisor can organise a private doctor’s consultation, where you will be able to discuss your diagnosis in more detail and receive a prescription for the required medication. You can also take your results to a doctor of your choice or a different sexual health provider. In the case of a reactive HIV or Syphilis test, we will contact you to organise further sample analysis at no additional cost. If the second test for HIV is positive, we will refer you to a specialised service who can provide guidance on your treatment options. For a confirmed Syphilis infection, your Better2Know advisor will organise a private consultation with one of our experienced doctors, who will prescribe the necessary course of treatment.
Is testing for STIs through Better2Know confidential?
Adhering to our privacy statement and confidentiality policy, Better2Know will not share your provided details or results with a third party unless you have given permission for us to do so, or we are required by law.
How long should I wait after an encounter before getting the FAST Four Screen?
You should wait at least 28 days after an incident you are concerned about before booking Better2Know’s FAST Four Screen. The accuracy of your results may be affected if you have not reached the minimum incubation time for your test.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When will you send my kit to me?
If your order is placed before 4pm on a working day, then it will be sent the same day. Otherwise it will be sent on the next working day.
Q: Why do you need my email address?
Your Patient Services Manager, Louise Wright, will email you your login details to access your results, a confirmation your kit has been dispatched and finally when all your results are ready. We do not sell on or email you any other marketing materials, that is why we do not ask you to opt in or out of anything.
Q: Do I need to use my real name?
No, but the postman does need to know where to deliver the kit to. As long as you use a name that will get the kit to you, then we do not need your real name.
Q: What does the kit packaging look like?
It will arrive in plain white envelope with your typed name and address on it.
Q: What if I have any more questions?
You can email Louise by replying to one of the emails she has sent to you. She will do her best to answer them.
