Better2Know Terms & Conditions
What are Urinary Tract Infections (UTI)?
UTIs can occur when bacteria enter your urinary tract; they can infect different areas including your bladder, urethra and kidneys. There are many causes for this type of infection such as faecal matter being transferred to your urinary tract, sexual intercourse, conditions that may block the urethra and circumstances that cause difficulty in emptying the bladder.
Is the urine culture test accurate?
Better2Know’s tests are CE marked so you can have peace of mind about the quality and standards of our private STI testing services. Your samples will be analysed by our highly accredited laboratory, ensuring fast, accurate and efficient results.
When will my test arrive?
We will send off your home testing kit on the same day, if you place your order before 4pm, Monday to Friday. Your discreet package should arrive as early as two to three working days, depending on where you are in Ireland.
How long before I get my results?
After our laboratory has received your samples, Better2Know’s expert sexual health advisors will contact you, unless specified otherwise, once all your results are available. You can also monitor the progress of your confidential results via Better2Know’s secure patient area online. Simply log in with the details we send you to view them when it is convenient for you.
What happens if my urine culture test is positive?
If your test is reactive for infection, Better2Know’s dedicated Patient Services staff will arrange a private consultation with one of our many doctors in Ireland. Your Better2Know doctor will discuss your diagnosis in more detail and provide a prescription for the medication you require, if necessary.
Is testing for a UTI through Better2Know confidential?
The personal details you provide, as well as the results of your Better2Know test, are completely confidential. We will not share this information with any third parties without your consent, unless the law requires us to do so.
How long should I wait after an encounter before getting a urine culture test?
You do not need to meet a minimum period of incubation for this testing option. If you are experiencing any urinary discomfort, and have eliminated the possibility that sexually transmitted infection is the cause, then you should order this home test now.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When will you send my kit to me?
If your order is placed before 4pm on a working day, then it will be sent the same day. Otherwise it will be sent on the next working day.
Q: Why do you need my email address?
Your Patient Services Manager, Louise Wright, will email you your login details to access your results, a confirmation your kit has been dispatched and finally when all your results are ready. We do not sell on or email you any other marketing materials, that is why we do not ask you to opt in or out of anything.
Q: Do I need to use my real name?
No, but the postman does need to know where to deliver the kit to. As long as you use a name that will get the kit to you, then we do not need your real name.
Q: What does the kit packaging look like?
It will arrive in plain white envelope with your typed name and address on it.
Q: What if I have any more questions?
You can email Louise by replying to one of the emails she has sent to you. She will do her best to answer them.
